Reliability and Radiation Effects on Advanced CMOS Technologies

[UNDER CONSTRUCTION]

Ionizing radiation can be very dangerous for the human body, but only when the exposure is above certain limits. Every year we receive a certain dose of radiation from the natural environment.

The biological effects of radiation depend not only on the amount of energy deposited in the tissue, but also on the type of radiation and on the receiving part. These contributions are all accounted for in the Sievert, which is a measure of the dose-equivalent.
